With privilege comes responsibility

Privilege is often something we are born into. Whether it be variables such as cultural norms, skin color, wealth…often we are exposed environmentally to certain rights and privileges, many are not naturally bestowed.
These benefits and advantages we enjoy, are not something to feel shame over. On the contrary, we should enjoy what life has given us. However, (placed on the same level of importance) using introspection to feel deep rooted empathy for those who have an unfair advantage from birth, is something to not only acknowledge, but we must seek to use those privileges as an opportunity to serve other demographics.
At Titan Performance, we strive to bring communities together, to foster a greater sense of belonging. It is in the serving and connection with others outside our immediate families, that we get to listen and to another persons’ journey. We understand that our behavioral choices are a direct reflection of our character, and that this impacts academic and sports performances. Directly from our Titan manifesto:
“A titan understands that character choices and personal values are the foundations of producing great individual performances.”
While directly engaging in the community, TP also provides opportunities for athletes’ to engage with one another online. It is imperative that we share and actively listen to other student-athlete stories, so we can resonate and build supportive structures for future successes. Actively engaging in online squadron groups as a student-athlete, provides a sense of togetherness and fosters a sense of accountability, as student-athletes strive to meet their short-term and long-term goals.
